These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Questpad — including questpad.app (marketing site), app.questpad.app (the web application), and related features such as the goal wizard and subscription billing (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who may use Questpad

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use Questpad.

Questpad is intended for individual, personal use. It is not a team project management tool, shared workspace, or employer-provided task system. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with any agreements you have with an employer or school if you choose to use Questpad for work-related tasks on your own initiative.

Your account

To use most features of the app, you must create an account with a valid email address and password.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate registration information
  • Keep your credentials confidential
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account, except where caused by our failure to maintain reasonable security.

You may sign out at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting hello@questpad.app.

The Service

Questpad is a focus-first personal productivity web application. Core features include:

  • Goals with sections (checklist, quota, and milestone types)
  • Tasks, routines, and a daily focus queue
  • An AI-assisted goal wizard (available on the marketing site without an account, and in the app)
  • Optional Pro subscription for higher usage limits

Questpad is a web application. We do not currently offer native iOS or Android apps. We do not sync with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or similar external calendars; scheduling uses in-app day views and time blocks.

Features may change over time. We may add, modify, or remove functionality. Some capabilities described in marketing materials may be labeled as planned or not yet available.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service (including circumventing wizard rate limits)
  • Upload malware or interfere with other users' access
  • Use the Service to store or process highly sensitive data you are not permitted to share (for example medical records subject to special regulation, or others' private data without consent)
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission

We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms or threatens the Service or other users.

AI wizard disclaimer

The goal wizard uses artificial intelligence to suggest plans, sections, and tasks based on your input. AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your situation. It is a starting point for planning, not professional advice.

Questpad does not provide medical, legal, financial, therapeutic, or other licensed professional services. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to act on any wizard output.

Do not rely on the wizard for emergencies or high-risk decisions. Use your own judgment.

Free and Pro plans

Free plan

The Free plan includes core Questpad functionality subject to usage limits, including:

  • Up to 15 active tasks
  • Up to 5 active goals
  • Access to the goal wizard (subject to rate limits)

Limits may change; we will not retroactively remove paid features you have purchased, but Free-tier limits may be updated with reasonable notice.

Pro plan

Questpad Pro is a paid subscription (currently $5 per month, USD, unless otherwise shown at checkout). Pro removes Free-tier task and goal caps and provides higher AI wizard usage limits.

Prices, features, and limits are described on our pricing page and at checkout. We may change pricing for new subscriptions with advance notice; existing subscribers will be notified before price changes take effect on renewal where required by law.

Billing

Payments are processed by Polar. By subscribing, you also agree to Polar's terms and privacy policy. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period unless you cancel before renewal.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through the customer portal linked from your account settings in the app. Cancellation stops future charges; you typically retain Pro access until the end of the current paid period unless otherwise stated at checkout.

Refunds

Refund eligibility is handled according to the policies displayed at checkout and Polar's payment terms. Unless required by law, fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has begun. Contact us at hello@questpad.app if you believe a charge was made in error.

Your content

You retain ownership of the goals, tasks, and other content you create in Questpad ("Your Content").

You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service — including transmitting wizard input to our AI providers as described in our Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the rights to Your Content and that it does not violate these Terms or applicable law.

Our intellectual property

Questpad's name, branding, software, design, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks except as necessary to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (including Supabase, Groq, Polar, and Vercel). Your use of those services may be subject to their separate terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR NEEDS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers; in those cases, disclaimers apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUESTPAD AND ITS OPERATORS, SUPPLIERS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages; in those cases, the above limits apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Questpad and its operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms — except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice where practicable).

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions) will survive.

Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that requires local law to apply, mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence remain available to you.

Disputes should first be raised with us at hello@questpad.app. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, it will be handled in courts with appropriate jurisdiction as required by applicable law.
